It is the mission of the SCCRA to lead its members by engaging in communications, legislative relations, and educational and testing opportunities in order to maintain the integrity and elevate the standards of the court reporting profession.
SCCRA members help educate, protect, and promote the court reporting profession in South Carolina and portray the ideals set by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA).
Become a Member
Membership in SCCRA is open to individuals who subscribe to and support the purposes of the Association and who are skilled in the art of verbatim reporting by the use of stenotype machine or stenomask.
Membership Levels:

Any person who meets one or more of the following requirements shall be eligible to become a Professional Member:
Any resident of South Carolina who is an official court or legislative court reporter in South Carolina.
Any resident of South Carolina engaged in the profession of court reporting in South Carolina.
Any resident of South Carolina who is a participating or professional member of the National Court Reporters Association or the National Verbatim Reporters Association.
Any resident of South Carolina who is the holder of a certified court reporter certificate mandated by state or federal law.
Any resident of South Carolina who is employed as a CART provider or captioner.

Any person who meets one or more of the following requirements shall be eligible to become an Associate Member:
A teacher of court reporting methodology or anyone connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting a court reporting course may become an Associate Member.
Videographers, scopists, proofreaders, and providers of support services to members of the court reporting profession may become Associate Members.
A court reporter residing outside of South Carolina may become an Associate Member.

A retired court reporter, CART provider or captioner may become a Retired Member.

A student currently enrolled in a recognized court reporting program or participating in a formal internship may become a Student Member.
