Join the SCCRA

SCCRA is the state affiliate of both the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA).  Membership in SCCRA is open to individuals who subscribe to and support the purposes of the Association. 

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

  • SCCRA sponsors events and opportunities to meet like-minded professionals.  

  • SCCRA provides a platform for reporters to promote themselves and find help when they need it.

  • SCCRA advocates for the profession by watching legislative action within SC and the across the country, as well as recruits new professionals.

  • SCCRA affords members a chance to give back to the profession.

Membership Opportunities

  • Professional Membership: $75/year

    A. Any resident of South Carolina who is an official court or legislative court reporter in South Carolina.
    B. Any resident of South Carolina who is employed as a court reporter in South Carolina.
    C. Any resident of South Carolina who is a participating or professional member of the National Court Reporters Association or the National Verbatim Reporters Association.
    D. Any resident of South Carolina who is the holder of a certified court reporter certificate mandated by state or federal law.
    E. Any resident of South Carolina who is employed as a CART provider or captioner.

  • Associate Member: $50/Year

    A. A teacher of court reporting methodology or anyone connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting a court reporting course may become an Associate Member.
    B. Videographers, scopists, proofreaders, interpreters, and providers of support services to members of the court reporting profession may become Associate Members.
    C. A court reporter residing outside of South Carolina may become an Associate Member.

  • Retired Member: $50/Year

    A. A retired court reporter, CART provider or captioner may become a Retired Member.

  • Student Member: Annual Dues Waived

    A student currently enrolled in a recognized court reporting program or participating in a formal internship may become a Student Member.
